Guest spamlet Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Is there a way to search for all the icon files (of whatever extension) on my pc and assemble them in one place so that I can pick suitable ones without having to use the various browse for dialogues that come with programmes that themselves don't have access to all the icons on the pc? For example: browsing for a suitable icon for a folder, today, I came across an icon of a tree, that I had not seen before but could previously have done with for a Google Earth placemark icon, that I ended up having to make myself. Today's tree icon was supposedly in System32, but I'm b'd if I can find it when outside the choose folder icon dialogue. Thus, I'd like to be able to select from a complete list of icons rather than just the few that each app tends to present. Can this be done? Cheers, S

There is a program that will allow you to do exactly what you want, called EasyIcon XP,available at http://www. easyapps.com The learning curve is a bit steep, but not that bad. I have used it since 1996, and recommend it highly. A word of caution, though - you may not want to put *every* icon on your computer in one file - that file would have 5,000-7,000 or more icons in it. A bit unwieldy. As you learn to use the program, you can categorize icons by icon library name (that's what I do). Hope this was some help. Tony
