Guest Tim.T Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I removed some software a while ago, I think it was called Dskchecker. When I rightclick a drive in My Computer, the following items appear in the rightclick menu. I think they refer to that program: Check C:\ with file method Check C: with direct method Read disk C: image WRITE disk C: image The program itself is nowhere on my PC, it's not installed to any folder, nor does it appear in Add\Remove Programs. These options only appear when selecting a drive; they are specific context menu options. I've looked at the registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers but "dskchkr.exe" isn't among them. I removed all the subkeys on that key to see if any of them were causing it, but these options still remained. Is there anywhere else in the Registry that handles rightclick menu options? I've searched through the Registry for these commands, without success; I can't find "dskchkr.exe" anywhere in the Registry either. But it must have a remnant somewhere creating these context menu options. Tim

Guest Tim.T Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Re: need help removing rightclick menu options Cool thanks, the key doing it was HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers. I found a DiskChecker subkey and removed it. Fixed. :) Tim "Ramesh, MS-MVP" <ramesh@XOX.mvps.org> wrote in message news:uZr7QjRAIHA.1184@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl...
