Guest Circular_Spin Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 RE: Desktop > any ideas? thks > Mistral Hey Mistral: the only "idea" that is coming to my mind, is that there might be a DLL conflict between Iconoid and another program. That is to say that Iconoid and another program might be sharing a common resource file and they are conflicting with each other. Did the problem show up after you installed something new? If so then a new installation of another program may have modified or overwritten one of Iconoid's DLL's. Replacing DLL's is not easy. But you might also try temporarily shutting off as many start-up items and programs as you can, and then restart your computer and just Iconoid. If you don't get the error after you do this, then you know one of the start-up items is conflicting. But the question then becomes which one? The only way to know is to turn them all back-on, one by one, and restart, until you find the program that is conflicting with Iconoid. (If you are comfortable working with "services" then you can try temporarily turning off as many services as possible, and likewise rebooting. But if you don't know much about services, then it is best not to play around with them.) All of that is tedious and involves a heck of a lot of restarting, and may not solve your problem. In the end it could be a bug or issue with Iconoid itself, in which case you would need to contact that company directly. I've heard people use the "unable to hook" term when referring to Delphi and C++ code, so that might point to a bug in the code.
