Guest ColTom2 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Hi: What causes all postings not to be in chronological sequence without skips in dates? I have my Read Options applicable News set to get 300 headers at a time and I do not get anywhere near that number when I click on a subscribed Newsgroup. When I view windowsxp.basics it starts with today's date and stops at 9/19/2007 and then begins again at 9/9/2007 and ends with 7/26/2007. I have never been able to figure out how to get as many postings as I want and they all be listed correctly by date without skipping dates etc. Hopefully somebody can clue me in on what to do to resolve this problem. Thanks

Guest ColTom2 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Re: Newsgroup Postings Dates Hi Pa Bear: I have the check beside "Show All Messages" and nothing is checked by "Show Replies To My Messages". My settings are exactly what you recommended. Any other recommendations to this problem? Should I repost under outlookexpress.general? I now realize that would have been the applicable Newsgroup thanks to you. Sorry.... Guest Gerry Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Re: Newsgroup Postings Dates Bear If the missing messages are only a day or so earlier your remedy will work but it can leave the users with many more messages than they need. Selecting Tools, Get Next headers once or many times as is necessary can avoid a large download. -- Regards.
