Guest John Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Hello, I have three computers and three system disks. My daughter is leaving and I need to send her off with her systems disk. How in the world to I find out which disk goes with which computer? Thanks.
Guest JS Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Re: Serial or Product Number Here are three utilities which will display your product key: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml and: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html and RockXP: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4138.html which has additional features Note: Also check the side of your PC case or bottom of the laptop for the OEM key code. If there is a sticker with the code it will most likely not match what is displayed by the utilities mentioned above as OEMs such as Dell use an internal key code when they build your PC. The key code on the sticker is for use with your Windows CD that hopefully came with your PC. Assuming that all three are the same type--Full Retail, Upgrade Retail, or OEM--it doesn't matter. The product keys are not on the CDs and they are identical. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Please Reply to the Newsgroup

Guest JS Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Re: Serial or Product Number You can try Belarc Advisor, see if reports what you want, since I don't use Vista let me know the results. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html JS "Fat Kev" <Fat.Kev@randy.com> wrote in message news:46FD6B4C.AF70F8F1@NEWSGROUPS.COM... > > Hey JS, > > Have you found any similar suitable tools for Windows Vista OS and > Office 2007? > > Cheers > > > > JS wrote: >> >> Here are three utilities which will display your product key: >> http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml >> and: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html >> and RockXP: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4138.html which has >> additional >> features >> >> Note: Also check the side of your PC case or bottom of the laptop for the >> OEM key code. It would be prudent to make a copy of the CD to remain with you...
