Guest franktee Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Good day to all Have accidently deleted/corrupted a particular Windows XP file, (in this case, "System Tools"), which shows up empty and am attempting to restore it with the restore disk. My question is, would I be able to custom restall this ONE PARTICULAR item or would a complete install be necessary? System restore and defrag. among lost items Thanks in advance for any helpful responses. OS Winxp Pro. WME. frankett

Guest franktee Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Re: Reinstalling Windows file Hi JS Thanks for your response and the great fix. Only problem is, the system tools folder is there, but its empty. I probably accidently deleted the contents and I'm attempting, to somehow, reinstall the contents that were originally in that folder. Thanks again. franktee "JS" wrote: > Lost or Missing System Tools Folder: > http://www.securelab.com/content/systool.html > > JS > > "franktee" <franktee@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:30BF94A4-98E1-4FD4-A16F-C10E43BB091E@microsoft.com... > > Good day to all > > Have accidently deleted/corrupted a particular Windows XP file, (in this > > case, "System Tools"), > > which shows up empty and am attempting to restore it with the restore > > disk. > > My question is, would I be able to custom restall this ONE PARTICULAR item > > or > > would a complete install be necessary? Guest Habitat Master Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Re: Reinstalling Windows file I downloaded driver agent, ran a scan, and followed it's recommendations on installing new drivers including the chipset. I somehow ended up losing my device manager. It's there but totally empty. Now I can't roll back the drivers I downloaded to the original drivers. My goal was to speed it up, I messed it up. Anyone help? Thanks in advance, streamsaver. Guest JS Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Re: Reinstalling Windows file You should make this a new add separate post as it is not related to this post. Also what driver agent are you talking about, include this agent info in your new post.
