Remove Integrated Sound Card?

Recommended Posts

Aloha.

My Dell XPS 410 came with an integrated sound card (built in to the MB).

It's a SigmaTel card, but they no longer support it. The card doesn't even

show up as a hardware device, only the SigmaTel Codec shows up, but not the

hardware.

I bought a new sound card, but it will not work. I am assuming I must first

remove anything connected with the integrated sound card. How do I do that

when it doesn't show up as a device?

Dell will not help, as I wiped Vista and installed XP.

Thank you.

Thanks for your kindness. For some reason the original post is not showing

up, so I asked again.

When's the last time you beat your wife?

You do it from BIOS - which has NOTHING to do with the OS.
