Guest Ed Walke Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 My PC's hard drive recently crashed and I had to install a new one with the recovery disk. I no longer have the screen saver function. I can set it and apply and it does not activate. It can be previewed just want activate at the elapsed time set. Any ideas. I have tried everything I can think of. Regards Ed Walke
Guest Matt320 Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 RE: Windows XP SP2 Do not have Screen saver function Hi Ed, This will sound really really stupid but... have you got a usb wireless mouse? sometimes the wireless mice always emit little movements and will not let it enable.. if so there are two thngs you can try. 1) buy a usb to ps/2 converter and try it in that port, i dont know why this works but it sometimes does and 2).. this is really stupid and weird but has worked for me and many of my customers with the same problem and that is too go to run> msconfig> startup tab and disable the cd/dvd player.. restart the comp and it will work. This may work but when you use the cd/dvd player then it will not work again till you restart. good luck, matt320 "Ed Walke" wrote: > My PC's hard drive recently crashed and I had to install a new one with > the recovery disk.
