Pictures don't display

From time to time in my email I get included pictures that display as an

empty frame with a little red x in the top left hand corner. This happens in

both my AOL account and my Verizon inbox so it doesn't seem to be associated

with the email software. I am using XP Pro

Any ideas?

If you send yourself an email with an embedded graphic, does the graphic

display?

Re: Pictures don't display

If I send myself an email containing any graphic that I can see on my screen,

like in Windows preview or photoshop, then the embedded graphic displays in

the email.

However, if I forward myself an email containing one of the mystery graphics

then it still doesn't display. Also, these blank areas are completely

unresponsive to any action I try to take. Right clicking does nothing.

Clicking on the red x does nothing. I cannot highlight them and save or copy

them. Also I get the same result if I open the email on any of the 4

workstations on my network.

From your description, the problem lies in the formatting (i.e., source of

the embedded graphic) in the original message, John. Not much you can do

about it, short of saving the graphic to your HDD and then attaching it to

the Forwarded message.
