Whenever I adjust my speaker volume from my keyboard, the volume level shows

on my monitor. Only after I did a Recovery on my computer did this start

occuring. Does anyone know where I go to change this setting so that I no

longer see the volume being adjusted on my monitor? Thanks so much for your

help!

This is a function of some of the software preloaded on your computer, not a

function of Windows. You'll have to find out what it is by poking around if

it really bothers you - then see whether it can be disabled.

It does bother me which is kinda why I posted the question = ) Also, I've

done quite a bit of poking around and haven't been able to find the solution

myself and was hoping for a little assistance. Thank You!

Well, yes, I rather picked up on that. :)

This is some config/management software on your computer, and obviously came

with your computer, and was preinstalled - so I suggest you call the mfr. or

check with their support for the most adept help.

There is sometimes a program associated with the keyboard that will run on

startup. This is how the comp knows when you have pushed the volume button,

and usually these programs, will allow you to customise keys to some extent.

Either look in the system tray for an icon that related to your keyboard. If

there is one try right-clicking and you might find a menu that allows you to

turn off the OSD, (on screen display). Look in your Programs menu for any

reference to multimedia keyboard and you may find configuration options

there.

You may or may not find and entry in the control panel.

See whether u have anything like Volumouse is installed in computer to

perform additional volume tasks. If you cant locate the program.Go to

START - RUN - TYPE MSCONFIG - from the popup dialog click on STARTUP

tab and Disable all startup items , Restart the computer.Check whether

the problem is resolved.
