On my IBM ThinkCentre, which is running XP Pro SP2, if I do the following...

* Right click on My Computer

* Choose Manage

* Expand Services and Applications

* Select WMI Control

* Right click WMI Control and choose Properties

All I get is

Failed to connect to <local computer> because "WMI: Not found"

Any thoughts please? I do have admin rights to this PC.

Re: Not found

SonicForce,

START | RUN | Type 'services.msc' (without quotes) & press ENTER

Scroll to the bottom & see if the 'Windows Management Instrumentation' service is running.

If not, right-click & start it

Post back please

Re: Not found

Thanks for your assistance. The service you mentioned has an Automatic

startup type and is reported as Started.

All the best,
