Guest JerryWE Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 RE: White bar on startup My question is how to get rid of it? Because that white bar shows up it takes like 5-6 minutes to start up my computer. Awhile back for some reason the bar quit showing up and I had quick start up and quick restarts and now all of a sudden the white bar came back and it's once again a 5-6 minute start up again. Thanks for any help. Guest dobey Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Re: White bar on startup Re: White bar on startup The white bar is just a progress indicator. If you got rid of it you would be looking at a black screen with no indication of how close XP was to starting. Guest JerryWE Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Re: White bar on startup Re: White bar on startup Does anyone know how to stop this? I didn't start getting it until I added a second hard drive. Our other computer has two drives in it and when it starts up we don't have to wait for the white bar to disappear. So I know it's not necessary to have it. "dobey" wrote: > The white bar is just a progress indicator. Guest Bob I Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Re: White bar on startup Re: White bar on startup Perhaps you didn't install the second drive correctly. Remove it and see if that corrects the issue. If that fixes it, please review the procedure used to install the drive paying close attention to the jumper settings.
