Guest Joe Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 My parents purchased a digital camera which did not support ME. I installed XP. The files are there, but the programs have disappeared. It tries to open them in wordpad & gives odd symbals. Please advise how I can get the programs back. It also took away Outlook express. Thanks in advance, -- Joe
Guest RalfG Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Re: upgrade from ME to XP Reinstall the missing programs. Outlook Express is part of XP, it's always there. Check in Add or Remove Programs->Add or Remove Windows Components that Outlook Express is checked off, otherwise its icons will be hidden. Guest Bob I Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Re: upgrade from ME to XP It sounds like you did indeed, "install XP", instead of "upgrading ME" with XP. This means that the programs are NOT installed in Windows XP, but may remain in ME. Does it allow you to "choose" ME or XP at boot time?
