Guest Buster Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Hi There, Is it possible to do a windows repair from the hard drive? When I try to do it with disk I can't find all of the files required, even doing searches etc. I just wondered if I copy i386 to the hard drive and change the register to look there and not at the CDrom whether that would help. Anybody got any thoughts please? Thanks Buster
Guest sgopus Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 RE: Windows Repair From Hard Drive More than likely you have sp2 installed, and your trying to use a cd with sp1 installed, look into incorporating sp2 onto your cd, ie slipstreaming. Guest Buster Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 RE: Windows Repair From Hard Drive Thanks for getting back to me. Yep tried that and it still didn't find all the files so I thought that I would copy another disk which came with SP2 on it. The reason why I am looking to do this is because I seem to have a corruped MDAC. Do you have any further thoughts please? Cheers Buster
