Since the problem occurs randomly, it is unlikely to be caused by drivers. Since the problem occurs when the computer is attached to different monitors, the issue is either with a failing video card or a failing motherboard. To determine which, uninstall the current video card and swap it out for a known-working one. If the replacement card works without failing, then you know the original video card should be discarded. If the problem occurs with the replacement card, you know it is the motherboard. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers http://www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User
Guest Unknown Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Re: monitor works then it dosen't ? On the contrary! Poor programming can cause all kinds of intermittent problems. A classic example is interrupting out of an interrupt. Might be a heat issue. Does your video card have a fan on it and is the fan always running?
