I'm using Windows 10, and last night it installed new updates on my computer as part of the shut down process. All fine.

This morning, when I switched the computer on, it then started the process of configuring the updates. All fine until the laptop cover accidentally got closed (not my decision!), and the configuring process jammed. I tried rebooting a couple of times, but the configuring process just gets stuck at about 76%. No keys work, and there's seemingly nothing to do but try rebooting again.

Is there anything I'm missing? Since Windows 10 changed the safe mode operation, I can no longer press F2 (or whatever the key was) to access any kind of menu. When started the computer goes straight into the configuring updates stage, and gets stuck at 76%

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help...
