Using Adobe Reader DC and Windows 10

With Win 10 whenever I use Adobe Reader DC, the PC freezes for just a few seconds several times while the reader is open. This is especially frustrating when trying to copy information from the reader and paste in a Word doc. This never happened with Win 7. Any ideas?
