Hello and Help!

I'm having problems searching my external hard drives using the search bar . I index them and all is good, then turn the computer off for the night and next morning trying to search I get the message "No matches found".

I do a lot of photography and need this option working as it takes forty five minutes or more to keep indexing drives every day. Does anyone know why windows 10 will not keep/recognise my index list after shutdown?

I've looked online and this issues seems to be quite rare and the only answers are to index my drives which I keep doing.

What I find annoying is that on my other old computers running XP I never had to index hard drives to search them, it just worked perfectly well from the beginning so why a change for the worse?

Any help appreciated before my stubble goes whiter and I pull out what's left of my hair.

Thank you.
