So we have two work computers. Computer 1 is the main one, and houses our quickbook company file, and Computer 2 which needs to access the quickbook file thru home group in order for it to work.

Computer 1 runs on windows 10 and did an automatic update yesterday. Computer 2 is running on windows 8.

Homegroup was working fine before the update. Now computer 1 can access computer 2 through homegroup fine. But computer 2 cannot access the files in homegroup for computer 1.

Computer one shows up, but when I try to click on the files I get a box that says \Name- HP\users is not accessible. You might now have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

I have: Checked the permissions

Checked to make sure file sharing was on

Left the group, and rejoined the group

Changed the group password on both computers

Went into services.msc and stopped both homegroup listing in there, turned them back on and created a new home group Restore point

Reinstall update

Turned firewall off

Turned Firewall back on

Tried it with password sharing on and with it off

Tried the windows 10 update troubleshooter

Gone into the permissions and sharing part for the quick books files and made sure that everything had access

Called and let Microsoft support log in remote and try for 1 hr 49mins(!!!) to fix it. The chick couldn't do it.

Please help!!!
