windows 10 Windows 10 'Burning' problem

Ever since I took on Windows 10 I've had trouble transferring pics to disc.....and it happens so frequently without any good reason being found, and I really get stressed out over this. I actually hate going into this mode as I can sit for half an hour or more going round and around. Under Picture tools one accesses 'Burn to Disc' I click on it and my subject for transfer is highlighted...and the pc remains silent....so I press again, in fact several times, but no joy, I go to stop sharing, then back again, and nothing, it hasn't done any burning or sending the pic.....I try clicking on the highlighted ready to write..or as it says, ready to be written to the disc, and a dropdown box appears...but no menu with burn on it.....I have sometimes succeeded without knowing why as I click everything and go on trying copy and send....mostly I give up. It used to be far easier on XP and take seconds.....many I talk to say microsoft stuff is crap and say the geeks at microsoft put too many mistakes into the stuff and really don't know what they're doing, and maybe there's some truth to that....because I have no idea why this burning thing is so awful

 

One would think that an icon saying burn to disc would work, why doesn't it?
