Hi

This is my last throw of the dice before I roll back to Windows 7 and forget Windows 10 altogether.

My system is fairly high spec - AMD FX-6350 on a Gigabyte GA-990xa board with 16GB ram, a 250GB SSD and an RX470 graphics card. It plays games very well, copes with VR through an Occulus rift and is generally responsive, boots quickly and gives me no issues except the following;

Really poor scaling when I duplicate my desktop and send one signal out to my projector (1080p) which forces my desktop resolution down from 2560x1440 to 1920x1080. Blurry text in explorer windows is rubbish but I can live with it since I'm generally full screen gaming or watching a movie when the desk top is duplicated.

The other issue - the one that is driving me insane - is audio and video stutter when either browsing the internet or using a p2p client.

For example I was just using autodesk sketch and listening to spotify. I Googled something for reference and the audio when crazy - stuttering, buzzing and being generally offensive to the ear.

Nor does is the problem limited to Spotify - the same will happen if I am watching a downloaded movie and I use the internet to look up something while the movie is playing. Frame and audio stutter mean I can't browse and watch at the same time. Using P2P makes my cursor so laggy it's unusable.

I downloaded Latency Monitor and it showed the following..

So, I updated my chipset drivers, my audio drivers (creative soundcard) and my BIOS. No difference. I rebuilt/reset my TCP/IP stack. No good (improved for a few minutes but pretty quickly got bad again). Saved a .bin file to my desktop to repeat as often as I can bear it.

So I unplugged every device except a wired keyboard and mouse. Same. I bought a network card with an Intel chip rather than a realtek one, disabled the onboard network card and tried that - still no joy.

I disabled the P2P windows updates and the monitored connection setting has been switched off. No good.

I disabled power throttling in my BIOS. I switched my SATA drive thingy over from IDE to AHCI. Same.

Incidentally I bought an old scanner and installed VMplayer to run XP to get it going. I can browse and listen in XP without problems.

I tried begging. I tried swearing. I tried praying. I tried threatening it.

I wiped my hard drive, downloaded a new copy of Windows 10 and did a fresh install. No good. I repeated all of the above on the new installation. Still no good.

Current workaround is to listen to music on my phone through my amplifier when drawing or browsing. I can even browse the internet and listen to music on my Raspberry Pi (running Jessie) without any problems.

What the heck is going on?

Has anybody got any ideas?

Thanks guys
