Computer lock out and malicious software

I received a screen notice on my Windows 10 screen, 7-15-17, that my computer has malicious software. The computer was locked and I was to call Microsoft support to fix the problem. I called the number on the screen and they wanted to go internally into the computer, scan and remove the malicious software. Of course they wanted 499.00 to fix the problem but offered a 230.00 discount. I refused to pay and they locked me out of the computer.

 

 

Cannot log on at all, cannot go to "run programs" screen, or use the Windows Key plus small "r". Nothing works. Also, cannot shut the computer off except by unplugging the power cord.

 

 

If I call back they say there is no discount. It appears that the company XXX has Microsoft skills but are after hard cash sales. I do not think that Microsoft does business in this manner.

 

 

Based on the above does anyone have a good solution to fix the problem before I take the computer to the repair shop??
