Windows Update is offering unknown AMD driver that won't install

I have an older Windows 7 machine with an AMD motherboard. Windows Update is telling me about a new driver from AMD, but when I tell Windows to install the new driver, it immediately fails for an unknown reason. Nothing in Windows Update tells me which driver it wants to update. I know the driver isn't for the video card as that's NVidia now. But the motherboard has several devices each with independant drivers.

I thought maybe AMD's website had a solution. But they either want you to identify the device in question or download and install a program to detect the devicce--but that program only detects video cards.

Any ideas here?
