windows 7 I have troubles with windows 7 and malware exploit

I have had difficulties with my Windows 7 [original] software and malware that is being installed on my system. After my last update which was successful I used a few domains including reddit.com from my browser where I believe malware was installed on my Windows 7 system [please note this has nothing to do with reddit.com I believe the attacker abused government sophisticated software and possibly had modified his exploit to use "petya" source code copy and paste]. I few other domains have been abused but one would need to research that. I still have malware and in my windows update I get the error code ["WindowsUpdate_80070103"] It seems Windows did not return an error now but I would need to reboot. I am using PIA vpn service now and I am quite happy that my PC is working better, but I still feel it's lag especially in chrome. Any advice?
