Conexant SmartAudio HD Microphone not working in Windows 10

My internal microphone does not work on my ASUS laptop (model X456UB), and when used, only creates a buzzing noise. I have checked that it is the default microphone, shown all deleted/disable devices(none), increased the volume, decreased it, and done the basic necessities, all to no avail. I have also deleted all the audio drivers, allowing the computer to reinstall them after restarting, once again, with no results. It is a Windows 10 computer, i5 Core, with Conexant SmartAudio HD as the default driver. I downloaded it again from the ASUS website. I am not familiar with computer terms, nor with fixing them. What am I to do now? Is this an unfixable problem? Will my laptop require a trip of a technician?
