I have two PCs that I normally connect using remote desktop. One, a Windows 7 box has never given a minutes trouble. The second, a Windows Home HP laptop suddenly stopped working. All are connected via cable to the same router. All have reserved IPs and I have confirmed IPs are correct.

 

I use a Windows 10 Pro desktop to connect to the other two computers. Worked for years with no problems.

 

I can ping the box and receive the expected IP.

 

I shut down the firewall on the laptop.

 

I ran regedit and checked for port 3389.

 

I have tried the alias, HPLaptop, as well as the IP address 192.168.06.

 

 

Of course I tried the standards M$ default answer and have rebooted my PCs as well as rebooting routers, Monitors (supposed to be a joke), etc. and nothing works. I have had this problem for about a week.

 

 

What might I have missed? I have read through most all forums, both here and external and have tried and checked all settings.
