Windows Activation Key does not work

I purchased Windows 8 several years ago and installed it on my laptop. That laptop eventually died, and I purchased another laptop. I used the same Windows 8 CD to install Windows on the new laptop, but it will not accept the activation key.

 

 

I am assuming the reason is because I can't have the same Windows on two different computers. However, the first computer no longer exists, and I would like to use the Windows 8 I purchased on the second computer. How can activate it?

 

 

(Before you ask: This is Windows 8 32-bit, which I need for this computer. I have some older software that will not run on my Windows 10 computer, but runs fine on the Windows 8 computer.)
