Issues with a recent upgrade

Hey my case is quite the peculiar one. I had an issue with the brightness control after I upgraded to windows 10. I tried the solutions I could find online and still couldn't fix it. A couple of months ago however, after running a windows update, the brightness control came back but just recently, I received a notification that my pc needs a restart to install newer updates. I did that as per usual and now my brightness control is gone again.

 

 

I recently saw a solution on another thread that said " Look for MD_EnableBrightnesslf2 and KMD_EnableBrightnessInterface2, and set them both to 0". Now, the issue is; I can't find those two keys on my PC.

 

 

In addition, I had an issue projecting through my HDMI port after the upgrade; the pc just won't recognise the external display. Sadly, this hasn't worked since then.

 

I'd deeply appreciate solutions to these problems.
