I have four PC desktops all running Windows 10, 3 running the Anniversary update. The first, only four years old, won't even run that and MS techies couldn't make it run either because its HP motherboard wasn't deemed compatible. The latest pc is an Acer i7 and it won't install the Creators update and, again, MS techies couldn't do it either. The other 2 pcs are i3s and just around 3 years old, and they won't install Creators. Searching shows dozens of nostrums for supposedly making the Creators update work, but none of them have worked for me. Clearly, the Creators update is incompatible with what must be an awful lot of current hardware, even pcs less than a year old.

Question 1: Can I just go on using the earlier versions that do still work and will they update?

Question 2: How do I stop Creators repeatedly trying, and failing, to install itself?
