Windows 10 update freezes during bootup

Stuck with Windows 10 update.

 

 

Around 5 days ago, on Laptop start, Windows update started automatically and froze at 74%, The dotted circle during update froze and so did the mouse. Didn't progress for few hrs. Left overnight and day for over 20 hrs but nothing happened.

 

 

System didn't revert to previous version as I read on other blogs. Restarted few times but everytime stuck at 73% or 75% or once at 81%.

 

 

I'm STUCK and Laptop has become useless now as Windows Update doesn't complete. Very frustrated. can't even throw it as it's a gifted laptop few weeks ago.

 

Laptop model ASUS R554LA-RH71T_WX - Intel Core i7-5500U Processor 2.4GHz, Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit, 8GB DDR3L RAM, 1TB 5,400RPM Hard Drive
