I have just received a call from a Jake Anderson, who had a very strong Indian accent, saying that he was calling from Microsoft and that I had a problem with my computer. He then asked if I had a microsoft computer. I asked why he would ask me that, if he already knew that I had a problem and he became quite irritated and said that I could verify his details by going to my computer and checking because he was my internet provider. When I asked how I would check he became more irritated. I said I wanted him to send me an email with the information and he became quite shouty and said that microsoft has sent me several emails and that because I had ignored them, that he was forced to call me. I then said that I wasn't prepared to do anything over the phone and hung up.

Can anyone tell me whether microsoft would call me like this?

Thank you
