Both Tryx3 and Melchizedek Qui have responded but I still need a solution if anyone has any ideas.

Edge not connecting to internetTrouble shooter stated that the device or resource could not be connected.

The Version OS is 1703 as is IE and Edge build 15063.483

I totally reset IE, rebooted and found nothing had changed with Edge still showing H’mm …….

I have deleted the Microsoft.microsoft Edge….. folder found in packages and reinstalled using the recommended file and Edge returned as it was – no internet connection.

I have checked the registry and compared it to that of a working laptop Edge version and found no conflict.

I am not willing to reinstall windows even though I really liked Edge but would rather live without than reinstall all my programs.

I had done a scan using AVG and Malaware bytes prior to the issue with Edge which I had done in the past without drama.

I would try a restore point but unlike say Win 7 there was none automatically installed whenever a new program was placed so nothing to go back to.

I have made a direct cable connection to the router with no difference to WIFi

Chrome and IE work perfectly

If I type 192.168.1.1 Edge connects to the router

If I turn off the WiFi Edge responds with “no connection”

But I cannot get anything else but H’mm can’t reach this page.

I have turned off Virus and malware protection and the windows firewall – no result.

What else can I check???????????

Kind Regards,

John
