I am having the same problem with all of my Microsoft Office files (Windows 10). All Word, Excel, PowerPoint files have been inexplicably reset to Read Only status and will not let me edit or save changes. This suddenly occurred 2 days ago. I have spent hours trying to sort the issue out. Finally, after spending an hour online with a Microsoft Troubleshooter, he admitted that this was a problem they are aware of and that they are hoping to fix it in an Update. Problem is, people have been reporting the issue for years so I'm not holding my breath for a fix. The situation is totally unacceptable.

A work around is to rename files and save them to your desktop. But if you refile them into a folder, they revert to Read Only. Like most people out there, I have too many files to even think about placing them all on my desktop. Microsoft needs to get this resolved!!!
