windows 10 computer not letting me access files despite being admin, help?

i was searching online on how to change my status as admin/non-admin, but all sources state that the first account is always admin and admin's have access to all accounts. is there any way to fix this? it feels as if my computer is locking me out of everything, because of this i can't download the video games I love to play. if anyone knows how to help, please do, and if anyone needs any more relevant information i will gladly contribute it, provided that i feel safe giving that info out and will help.
