I have Windows 7, SP 1, 64 BIT Operating system on my Laptop. For the past year, I have experiencing hiccups with Windows Update. Whenever I try and search for new updates, the system freezes and so I had to disable the Windows Update service. Even if I enable it now, the system would freeze. As a result, I have not been able to apply any recent updates.

 

Kindly help.
