"Alarm" beep when incorrect key combo pressed.
by Guest Ben Bowen- 3 replies

Hi all. I've got an IBM Lenovo laptop. The silly thing beeps every time I hit some incorrect key combination. It usually happens when I type too fast and mash several different keys at once. I hate that stupid beep. I can't find where it's configured in the Control Panel - > Sounds and Audio Devices. It sounds like something that would have used an old PC speaker. Any idea how to turn this bloody thing off? Thanks.

I have a question for you System builders. We have sold 2 new computers in which were supposed to come with Microsoft Office 2007 installed on them but for some reason it wasn't included in the quote and we didn't see it when we built it and installed the software. My question is now that it has been a month since the sale of the machine can we bring the machine back and install Office 2007 with the OPK master kit still? Or will we need to sell them Box Product instead of OEM now? Thank you for your help Joe Kemco ITP

Hi all, I have a situation last weekend. For quite a while, I have been using Win98 and only so as the applications that's been used doesn't work on Win2000/XP. For all other purpose sometime ago added a smaller drive for XP. So the Win98 is on C and XP on D and C is Master by jumper setting. Finally I received upgrade to old application to run on XP and so willing to use the D drive exclusively and use present C drive as a common external drive. Please let me know how to detach the first drive and boot XP directly from it's drive?

I read where AMD is comong out with a Quad Core CPU. I have a dual core Intel CPU. And I see no difference in anything from when I used a single core CPU. The MB bios and XP both see the dual core. Can anyone explain what the difference/advantage between single, dual and Quad core CPUs are? Just wondering.

by Guest Joey- 4 replies

I wonder if any one can assist. We run Windows Small Business Server 2003 and XP Prof SP2 on a laptop. This laptop is used at the office as well as at home. At the office he obviously logs into a domain. The client would like to select the different logon names from a drop down menu so that he doesn't have to type it in all the time. Is there a way to do this? I have tried TweakUI from PowerToys but upon installing TweakUI I don't have the option under the Logon Section to hide or make visible a user account. I only have AutoLogon, Settings and Screen Saver. I have also manually edited the registry under Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\ UserList and added the other use…

Windows Movie Maker 2.1 & SP2
by Guest JD- 1 reply

I had to delete movie maker 2.1 from my system because it was functioning improperly, however, when I try to remove the .dll files from the movie maker folder, they come right back, and if I remove the folder in safe mode, it also comes right back. I need to delete these files in order to use the installer, because with the .dll files present, the installer thinks movie maker is already installed on my computer, when it in fact is not. Does anybody know a good solution to get rid of the dll files or the folder entirely (maybe through the registry?) Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm trying to make a movie for my girlfriend, and this is not helping my …
