Remote desktop security

When you remote desktop into a workstation, is there any footprint of your activity left on the workstation from which you performed the remote desktop connection. For instance, when you browse the net, there are cookies, cached files, etc. Would these be present on the workstation from which you started the remote desktop session? Would there be any other files of your activity present on the workstation from which you started the remote desktop session?

ICS and XP and ADSL Router and Wireless and XBox !
by Guest Jim- 3 replies

Before anyone jumps down my throat - I know a ethernet bridge or xbox wireless adapter is the answer - my bridge is out on long term loan and I don't want to invest in another or a rip off Xbox adapter. So: I have a ADSL router with a wireless network. Downstairs office - three PCs connected by ethernet to the switch/Adsl router. All ok. Upstairs I have one PC connected wirelessly to the downstairs ADSL router - pretty standard stuff and all works well. However, next to this PC is an Xbox and I used to connect it to the wireless network using a simple bridge. Bridge is no longer there....so is there a way I can use ICS on the upstairs PC - which will t…

If you're uncomfortable with going further (and, I can't say I blame you), you'll get better answers in a dedicated Windows XP group. I got Vista Ultimate version on my AMD 3200+, 4 GB RAM. My harddisk is Seagate 320 GB SATA - 16 MB RAM. Yesterday my machine was running fine, then I shut it down. Removed my cordless PS2 keyboard and mouse, plugin my newly bought MS 2000 keyboard desktop into USB. Turn on the machine, only into the BIOS and got the error message on the screen: Windows Boot Manager "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: 1) Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer 2) Choose your language settings, and then click "Next" 3) Click "Repair your computer" If you do not have the disc, contact…

by Guest Cuzman- 1 reply

Like most people, I have several USB peripherals attatched to my system. Most of them utilize very little CPU usage, but others such as my digital camera and my iPod turn the CPU usage to 100% when they are attatched. Is there a way I can stop this from happening? This problem is slowing my system down considerably. TIA

by Guest Homer Jay- 1 reply

I recently installed XP Pro onto a Samsung S1604N hard drive, but now am unable to boot. I cannot access Windows with either safe or normal mode. I get a blue screen error with the following: The stop code is *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF8A80528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) I have tried the HD in 2 different computers and get the same error. The XP install runs fine, only after the final reboot before loading Windows do I get stuck. If I put the drive as a slave in another machine, I can access the drive fine, view files on the drive, copy/cut/paste files to the drive, in other words it acts normal. Only when I try to boot to the drive do I get t…
