I now have Windows XP Home Edition for the OS and I would like to re-install Windows Live One Care but I first want make a copy of the HD with all the updates included. I do have both, a CD RW burner and A DVD RW burner on my system. I just to not have the knowledge of how, one makes a copy of ones HD drive. If you would be so kind and patient to explain to me exactly what files and folders one has to select to make a copy of ones HD and should the copy be made on a Bootable CD/DVD?

openAL

hi, a while ago i had a good project in visual studio 2005 (vc++), with a good build and a good .exe file. it used some basic openAL functionality, with muliple buffers and sources. the sounds played perfectly at the right moments. i wanted to check the compatibilty and set the comp. mode (in .exe file prop's) to '95 and medium res. or something. since then i have an openAL problem with my project, in that sometimes a source won't play. i have set the comp. mode back to normal immediately after, but i have kept the .exe file from the build in my solution folder, with a different name, for back-checking possibilities. i don't exactly know, what the com…

WinAntivirus Hijack
by Guest RTadeu- 4 replies

I'm running XP and Norton IS 2006, and got my IE7 hijacked by the damned WinAntivirus. Now the damn thing keeps poping up from the in tray saying that my machine is infected with spyware and asking me to pay those criminals a ransom and install WinAntivirus to get rid of it, which I'll certainly won't do - I'd rather reformat my HD and reinstall the OS instead. So, before resorting to a much drastic solution, does anyone know about a way of getting rid of this pestering thing, and also why Norton IS doesn't block or recognise it? Thanks for any clues on this. -- Roberto Tadeu

The program has been closed without installing. info ID: 6800.2554.01.2.10092 Please send the Info ID to http://www.adobe.com/misc/bugreport.html I would think my XP has a serious problem.

Is there a way to automatically copy the contents of one or more folders to another folder? Here is what I am trying to accomplish ... My users keep 3 different folders: Sue\Docs Wendy\Docs David\Docs I want to create a folder called simply: \Docs So that anytime someone adds information to either of the three user folders listed earlier, then Windows will automatically copy or create shortcuts to all of the documents within those three folders into the \Docs folder. Is this possible?

Media files play, but no file in directory
by Guest Paul- 19 replies

I have all my music (about 1000 tracks/files) on one drive. However, using Windows Explorer, in name order (A-Z), I can only view A-M (557 tracks/files). Yet, when playing a file in Media Player, it plays fine. In WMP, right click on a file, Properties shows eg. L:\Sugar babes - Red Dress.mp3 Yet, when Open File Location is selected, the file is not there. Any ideas??? Thanks Paul

Importing Yahoo/MSN contacts to Live Messenger
by Guest mc- 3 replies

I have different friends that use different IM services: Yahoo, MSN, AOL. As a result, I have all three installed, and it is becoming a big pain. I understand Windows Live Messenger can talk to Yahoo and the old MSN messenger. Thinking that will at least consolidate two, I downloaded and installed Windows Live Messenger, but cannot seem to find out how to either import or set up the Yahoo and MSN contacts. It may be something obvious, but can someone please enlighten me?
