Home Folder
by Guest Jasper Recto- 4 replies

Our users each have a their own Home folder. When they log into the domain, it automatically connects them to it based on their user profile information. However, sometimes when they log in, it does not connect to their individual folder but to the parent folder. For example, a users home folder is set to this: Z: drive --> \\Fileserver\Users\JohnDoe. The Users folder is the shared folder in this case. When they log in, their Z: drive should be linked to that location. However sometimes it does not map directly to the JohnDoe folder, it maps to the Users folder where they see all the users folders listed in there. Why does it do this and…

usb problems
by Guest Doug D.- 12 replies

I am currently running Windows XP Media Center 2005 and am having problems with my usb devices. My printer and MP3 player were working fine up to recently, now my system says something is plugged in but does not recognize anything. I have tried the supposed "HOT FIX", unplugging & plugging in every device, and the suspending power fixes to no avail. Can anybody help me out? Apparently from what I read, SP3 fixes this problem, but alas there is problems installing that as well. HELP ME!! I had made no changes to any programs or hardware prior to this. I even ran an AVG Anti-virus scan to make sure everything was clean. -- Doug D.(puzzled)

by Guest justabill- 9 replies

Man do I have a problem! When I try booting into XP it will get up to the point where the logon screen should apper, and it doesn't. I just get to the blue screen (not to be confused w/the BSOD) but it never gets to the point where it says 'Welcome" and I can log in. There is a mouse cursor there that I can move around but nothing else, not even disk activity. Nada, zip, zilch. I've tried safe mode, safe mode w/networking. safe mode w/command prompt, last known good configuration, debug, etc. all but the one for Domain Controllers. Done the 3 fingered salute (Ctrl+Alt+Del) to bring up the other login screen. I've booted from cd's that allow access to NTFS…
