When I click on publish this file to the web, the web publishing wizard opens, select the files I want to publish, then click next, to where do you want to publish these files. It USED to have -- MSN GROUPS PHOTOBUCKET NOW it only has MSN GROUPS so I can't upload my pictures to photobucket unless I go to photobucket site. Did this change or has something gone "buggy" here?

To the Most Knowledgeable MS Guru

Dear Captain Microsoft, I am setting up one of my old computers to give to a friend and it is not functioning as normal, i.e. it is reporting as a CD only whereas it is definitely a DVD burner. This has happened in the past and I got some excellent advice from a MS newsgroup however, being a geriatric with advanced senility and hygiene issues, I can't recall what it was. If any here has sage advice in this matter, I will appreciate it forever. Anopheles

Windows Desktop Search lagging
by Guest Paul- 0 replies

I have been trying the new Windows Search 4.0, and I do like it, but I have one question. In the right-hand pane, where the document preview appears, even for short (1-2 page docs), it can take a good 10 seconds to appear. This is rather slow, because the middle pane (where I see the results) don't have any "preview" or results from inside the document that allow me at the blink of an eye to see if the doc is possibly the one I'm looking for. How can I get the right-pane doc preview to appear more quickly? -- Paul MS Office Pro 2003 XP Home Dell Inspiron 1501

I have just installed XP SP2 in a new computer and tried to keep downloads of other programmes to the bare minimum. I find now, that I can open most pages withour problems, like say The Times; but with the Guardian and the Daily Mail the mouse has little control and find scrolling down difficult as the pages hanga nd then jump. Could this be because I do not have Java/Flash and others installed? What is the minimum that I must allow for easy IE viewing? Thank you JB

I want to boot off my nephew's router Yes with his permission, as long as I help pay the tab. We live next door to each other. My problem being is that I can't pick up the signal in my place because I live in a mobil home. I have a N usb adapter, plenty strong enough, you can pick the signal up right outside of the window with the laptop, but the minute you bring it inside it looses the signal even though I place it right in front of the window(also where my desktop lives). I am desperate for a solution. Anyone out there have any ideas, I would be forever grateful. Because of where we live there are only so many lines for highspeed and I ain't one of the…

Hi: I am running Windows XP Media Center (2005) SP3 on a Sony desktop VGC-RA716G and just today starting getting this defrag error notice. I might add that it started after I had installed Windows Desktop Search 4.0, but I uninstalled it and am now still getting the same error notice. Also I installed the Desktop Search 4.0 on my Toshiba laptop and have had no related problems with it defragging. The Defrag Error Notice reads as follows: " Some files on the volume could not be defragged. Please check the defragmetation report for the list of these files". Here is a copy of defrag report: Volume (C:) Volume size …

by Guest mondeoman- 4 replies

The internet connection status icon is continually showing that my computer is sending data. When I click on it and check the details of the status it shows it is sending about 100 bytes per second. This did not happen before, or if it did send whilst I was not active on the computer it would only be for a brief period. Now it is sending continuously. I have run Adaware and Norton 360 scans and found no problems. Help please.

by Guest JCO- 4 replies

Running XP Pro with SP3 Security Update for .NetFramework, Version 2 (KB928365) FAILS to install. I've had .Net Framework issues before where I had to uninstall all .net stuff and reinstall them in the proper order. However, I Just restored my computer from an Image that was a year old. I now have all the updates except this one. I don't have the install programs since they were deleted prior to creating the Image (a year ago). So what can I do to resolve this issue? I've tried downloading the Security Update and install it that way, but it still fails. No reason is given for the failure. Thanks

....from one PC to another, without installing it from scratch ? Background:- An "aged" MEGGER software "certificate printing" appplication, that looks like it was created with, or is some form of "Microsoft Access" JET/MDAC based application, and which looks to me like it uses the older 1992 onwards "JET" form of MDAC ...and which contains lots of documents that were created within it. i.e. ...there's a \Megger\certificates\ directory containing lots of *.aff files). ....need to be transplanted to a new PC. An added complication is that this MEGGER Powersuite software is used in conjunction with MS "Activesync," which retrieves documents from H…

Windows XP Pro/MCE 2005 crashed and due to the large number of apps installed we are doing an Win XP from the CD's and repair an existing install. When installing from original cd's which included SP2 it fails during the install process with "unable to load mscoree.dll" and ngen.exe will also not run. After the install completes when you run XP the desktop comes up ok but it attempts to load Document Viewer and errors continously and never installs. We are not able to start Task Manager and the system will not shut down except turning off power. The CD disks are clean and has failed at the same point during 3 install attempts. Do we need to download .N…
