Sorting by date created in Explorer
by Guest Kister- 4 replies

I need to sort files by date, but the dates that Explorer show are not actually the dates that a file was modified or created (I have both fields showing). They are actually the date that the file was last opened. Is there any way to truly sort by the date that a file was created or modified? Thanks.

spyware-can't delete dll file
by Guest Minty- 4 replies
I've done a search on the forums and tried their suggestions for the past few days but nothing is resolving my problem. I have a malware/spyware and its really embedded on my c:\windows\system32 folder. I ran AdAware, Spybot, (with updated files) and Trend in Safemode to try and delete, rename....everything but nothing. Even tried shutting down explorer.exe in the task manager and it still won't allow me to delete this file. The specific file name is evenops.dll from Virtumonde/DriveCleaner 2006 and it keeps installing the same files every restart. They also appear in my registry which I can delete no prob. Suggestions are welcome. Thanks in…

Folder View.
by Guest Bubba- 2 replies
Hi. I would like to customize Xp so that CERTAIN folders have certain view. For example, data files are listed in "Detail", videos and images are displayed in "Thumbnail" view etc. I understand that I can "Apply to all folders", however I don't see the reality of displaying Data Files in Thumbnail view. I thought I had this configured, but for some reason every folder is displayed "apparently" in random format and I can't seem to get "Individual Folders" to display the way I'd like. Am I missing something? Ok, dumb question, otherwise I wouldn't be posting. Thanks...

Hi, If a Windows XP PC is connected to a domain, and you leave it unattended for 10 to 15 minutes - it will automatically lock, and you have to press ctrl+alt+del and enter your password to log in again. Is there a way to prevent this. Many thanks, Justin -- Desktop Support Guru
