Quicktime reverting Vista to 16-bit Windows Vista Basic theme
by Guest afairjudgement@gmail.com- 0 replies

So I think what caused this to happen is from my regretful attempt to get some of the old Myst games working *Myst masterpiece edition + Riven), and this HAD to install the old version of QT that they used (can't remember version number). Now since then, whenever I go to do anything involving quicktime, it set my Vista theme to Vista Basic and as soon as I close it, it reverts back to the Aero theme. Not sure what to look for...I've uninstalled all versions of Quicktime then reinstalled from the web installer. Maybe I need some sort of registry cleaner but I don't trust many of em. Just need some suggestions...thanks

Virtual memory not all used
by Guest Nigel Andrews- 5 replies

I have 1GB RAM and the virtual memory setting is 2.5GB, but I find some programs won't start and I get Not enough memory errors when only around 780mb of VM is used! Since this has only just started and I have already removed some programs from Start-up I am thinking there is a problem. Does anyone have any idea why my full 2.5GB of VM is not used? Thank-you Nigel

Hello Everyone! First time posting and ofcourse its cause i'm in a jam I think i have it figured out that it is a csrss.exe that is causing the error but i am not sure and plus, i really dont know what to do about it. I would re-install normally but time is of the essence and alot of very special configs have to be redone (so much CAD stuff...ouch). Can someone help me avoid the -Format- option? Unable to open System Restore
by Guest Skip Bisconer- 6 replies

I have been having some issues with a nasty pop-up issue in IE7 and I thought possibly I could resolve the problem by restoring my system. When I try to do a System Restore it tells me "System Restore Application has encountered a problem and needs to close." I have tried to go from Safe Mode but to no availe. I am on XP Pro SP2. I have recently installed a beta version of McAffee. (Don't know if the latter has anything to do with it.) It's been a couple months since I have had to use Restore. Thanks for looking at my problem. Any suggestions on the popup issue woud also be helpful.

Just installed a 5400 rpm Internal HDD for a failing 4200 rpm. All went well via Norton Ghost 2003. My question is should I search for a new driver for the new HDD as my system is about 3.5 years old or since all is well just leave it be ?
