Replaced (cloned) my HD, booted up (almost) first try. Everything seems to work except SR is not working. I reviewed several of the posts on this subject, and they suggest a couple of methods of rebuilding the sr file that require you to insert the SP2 CD. I believe they are looking for the sr.sys file. I do have the Windows SP2 disc, however, I keep getting the error message "file not found" Agent Ransack can't find sr.sys on the CD either. What to do? Dave

Here's the situation. I purchased a PC game which requires direct X 9.0c. Went online with tech support for over an hour who was very patient with me, but to no avail the game still won't work. The game that I bought is The Sims 2: Double Deluxe Expansion pack. Tech support helped me download DirectX and NViDIA Ge Force 2 and the game still won't play. I have Windows XP home edition. What do I need to do to get this game going? I'm ready to go and get my money back!!

For several months now, a number of my users have reported that Outlook items, particularly draft emails, are being grouped on their Taskbars as Word Documents rather than as Outlook files. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? We're using Windows XP, SP2 with MS Office 2003. Thanks.

Problem copying a directory to the CD-ROM Drive
by Guest John Morley- 0 replies

Hi All, I am having trouble copying directories to my CD-R/W Drive for archival purposes. For example, if I right-click on a particular directory and select 'Send To' the CD-ROM Drive, the copy starts, but the time estimate for the process is many HOURS. The directory in question is 300MB in size. During the copy, which eventually finishes, the computer is essentially non-responsive. After the temporary files are created, the actual CD burn process is fairly quick. This is Windows XP-SP2. Any ideas why this process is Sooooooooooo Slow??? Thanks, John

by Guest Doc- 13 replies

When I got to Windows updates, it tells me I need to install SP3 and gives no other options for updates. I've heard of a lot of problems with SP3. Am I not going to be able to do any further updates to SP2? Is it SP3 or no further updates?
