My hard drive ,80 (GB), has almost no space left vacant on it. It has 65 (GB) of built in administrators on it, which accounts for most of the problem. What are Built in administrators, do I need them, and what can I do to eliminate this problem? Thanks for any and all help. -- Lester Clark

someone in my office has Windows XP SP2, 3.2Ghz Celeron Processor with 1GB memory. She has a 35GB C drive partition, 22GB of which is free. When she has multiple MS Word documents open (in this case she had 3 big ones open) the message "Disk Full" pops up. What would cause this?

Re: Disk full error Never mind the RAM count, I re-read the OP. Even at 3.2 Ghz a Celeron is severely limited doing the work you indicate. "R. 304 usb keyboard error
by Guest M.L.- 4 replies

I'm posting on behalf of a friend who is getting a 301 keyboard error upon booting with the native USB keyboard on her Compaq XP desktop. She purchased a PS/2 keyboard and it works fine, but she highly prefers her Compaq USB keyboard and wants to get it working as it did before. Any troubleshooting assistance will be appreciated. Thanks.

.TMP files suddenly appearing everywhere?
by Guest Henrik- 2 replies
All, Suddenly, temp files with a .tmp suffix have begun to appear in various folders. It looks very much as if temp files associated with documents I've been working on haven't been closed properly -- the files have file name corresponding to a file I've been working on resently, adding some gobbledygook and .TMP. So, for instance, myfile.ppt would create one or more myfile.ppt~RFf097fa.TMP or similar. It has begun some 4-6 days ago. I've added a few software packages but no material changes. I have some 7.5GB free on a 65GB hard disk. Thanks in advance Henrik

This also happens when trying to start a program via clicking start ,all programs and clicking on the program. The same thing happens when trying to start control panel either via the Start menu or via the run command. In fact unable to run anything.

Can't share DVD drive between two PCs?
by Guest djarvinen- 0 replies

*reposted from 'network_web' as no response there* I have recently installed WinXP Pro (previously Win2K) on my small (two PC) home network. Previously I had shared folders and CD/DVD drives between the two PCs. After the install, I can share folders but do not get the share option for the DVD drive: http://www.firish.com/share1.JPG http://www.firish.com/share2.JPG The sharing of the file folders is fine (ie, I have connectivity, permissions, etc.). Any ideas what is going on here? Thanks. PS I have since found a setting in Policies that enables/disables that share but confirmed that the switch is set correctly.
