It does not matter how you are copying them (to nas, computer to computer, etc.) you always get the error below. Bot computers are high end (2 gig ram) and NAS is 1TB Iomega Storecenter. Any ideas on how to resolve? THanks Bob Error Message: Operation with partition "C:" was terminated. Details Tag = 0x0 Error writing the file. My neighbor had little protection and got all sort of malware, trogans etc. in her computer. I tried to find by using Lavasofts Adware, Spybot search and destroy and Avast anti-virus which I installed on her computer because she had no antivirus at all. Anyway, after hours of finding hundred of crap through the 3 programs we still had the same problem with the homepage hijacked and an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle in the traybar by the clock. I finally told her I would take the hard drive and scan the drive as a USB Drive and used Norton on my computer to do so. I found eleven more and removed them also. Vundo was one of them. Now after pla…

WinXP shutdown problem
by Guest Steve Louie- 0 replies

Hi, got a laptop with windows XP Pro SP2 logon to SBS 2003 SP2 domain. I am using roaming profile. I am also using dual monitor with a docking station with the laptop monitor as the secondary monitor. The problem i am having is that when I do a shutdown (or log off) Start > Shutdown/Log Off > choose shutdown it doesn't do anything. When i do it the second time, then the shutdown prompt automatically moves to my secondary montior then it will work. I can take roaming profile off and see if that will help but any ideas how to fix this problem? Steve Louie

I have saved photos e-mailed to me in Outlook Express in the past by right-clicking on the photo and selecting "Save Picture As." Today when I right-clicked on a photo I am getting this message: "The system cannot find the file specified" and then it tells me I need to reinstall the file: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\mshtml.hlp Help file." I do not know how to do this. Can someone please walk me through it so that I can save photos once again. Many thanks!

by Guest martkaufman- 5 replies

Where is the location of the msconfig "startup" file/tab? After startup items have been "deselected", they still hang around on the list. After a while, it makes it difficult to find other startup items without rolling through the whole thing. Is it possible to "edit" the file to remove these no-longer-used entries?

I have posted this to Working Remotely as well.... I have an associate who can search her mapped drives while she is in the office with no problems. However, when she works remotely over an SSL VPN connection, it comes back with no results depsite knowing the file she is searching for is obviously there. Searching the C:\ drive while remote works fine. Any ideas? Thanks Rex
