Can you please help with the following? We have just installed the July security patches and are now getting an error. We installed the July Windows security patches on two boxes with: --Windows Advanced Server 2000 sp 4 with IIS 5 --.net version 1.1.4322.573. This following error message is now occurring every few seconds in the Application event viewer. Event ID 1008: The Open Procedure for service "ASP.NET_1.0.3705.6060" in DLL "C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\aspnet_isapi.dll" failed. Very strange error, I will appreciate your help When I'm trying to connect to a remote share from a Xp client to a W2000 server by IP, It doesn't work, It continously prompt user validation. When I try by hostname It's work, very strange! Both Machines are in the same domain, across a Wan link , Xp client at one side with the DC and the Windows Server at the other side. Hi, I have to set up a Win2k Server to use with Exchange 2003. Exchange is only going to be used on the local LAN. (I have only set them up before when I have had a fully qualified domain name to give the machine, correctly associated with its IP address.) The machine has a private IP address, eg 10.0.0.100. I gave it a made-up domain, eg plug.local and a machine name of "exchange". All seemed well - until I tired to connect mail on user machine. When trying to create a new mail Exchange account, I put in "exchange.plug.local" - and it couldn't find it. I put in 10.0.0.100 and when I tested the account name, it changed it to "exchange.plug.local" …

Hi, We have an active and a passive node clusters. After applying Win2k SP4, the active node is up and running but we can't get the passive node to work. Appreciate your help. I have a mixed network of 2003, 2000, and NT servers. There are about 20 users that I set up with roaming profiles and BASIC redirected my documents folders. I have a share with Everyone having full control then set the profile path as \\server\share\%username%. The redirected folders points to a different server as the profile to avoid long log on times. The profiles aren't roaming. Users have to run our drive mapping script and our printer setup script. What's the deal? What are something that I can look at. The event log doesn't show anything unusal that gives me any clues something's wrong. Thanks,

Am looking for information that can lead to fix for W2KAS when installing 2G RAM. Motherboard: Asus A7M266-D Processor(s) (2): AMD Athalon XP 1800+ DIMM: KVR266X64C25/512 I have been running two KVR266X64C25/512 for about three years on this server, but when I install two of the same chip W2KAS crashes with a different STOP message each time, and never in the same stage of bootup. Sometimes it will make it into the OS and allow me to run an application, but the moment the application loads the OS crashes to a reboot. We have Windows 2000 and use DFS to use sharing on our files. All of the XLS files from Excel will not open in Windows Explorer, they give an error of "\\servername\" cannot be found. I double checked the DFS management on the server and it seems to be fine there. If I open the file from within the Excel File menu, it works fine. Any ideas? joe.ryan@directive.com

hi all i found that i have this process running on my windows 2000 server.... and i have not initiated any replication process? does someone know what might be using this process? i am not in a position to restart my server so i would appreciate a workaround...obviously before terminating the process. its also eating around 140MB memory

Hello, A real dumb one here: I was attempting to fine tune the security settings and denied the everyone group access to a folder. I've admin rights but am unable to change any settings now. Any suggestions? I did this once before years ago on NT, but cannopt remember how to get around it. -Larry
