Printer and Network Drives not mapping w/ Roaming Profile
by Guest Beyuduzz- 2 replies
I am running a mixed NT/2000/2003 Server environment. I got folder reidrection for desktop and my documents, and am testing roaming profiles with select users. They initially had local profiles on their 12 computers, but some users requested roaming profiles. The problem I am having is that after setting up roaming profile path, their network drives, and printers are still different on each machine. Any thoughts on this. There isn't anything out of the ordinary in the event logs. Thanks, Tom

I have 2500 printers (HP) that I need to change the location of them and change the comment field as well. Can some one tell me where the best place is for doing this change via a script. Can it be done in WMI on the print server or does it have to be in AD or both? Thank you in advance

Roaming Profiles don't "roam"
by Guest Beyuduzz- 0 replies
I have a mixed network of 2003, 2000, and NT servers. There are about 20 users that I set up with roaming profiles and BASIC redirected my documents folders. I have a share with Everyone having full control then set the profile path as \\server\share\%username%. The redirected folders points to a different server as the profile to avoid long log on times. The profiles aren't roaming. Users have to run our drive mapping script and our printer setup script. What's the deal? What are something that I can look at. The event log doesn't show anything unusal that gives me any clues something's wrong. Thanks,

Using robocopy from the Windows Server 2003 resource kit from a Windows XP computer E: is a USB drive. Z: is a mapped drive to a volume on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server. robocopy Z: E: /E /B /A /COPYALL /R:3 /W:1 The /A switch is not reseeting the Archive bit. This prohibits me from running an incremental backup. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Very strange error, I will appreciate your help When I'm trying to connect to a remote share from a Xp client to a W2000 server by IP, It doesn't work, It continously prompt user validation. When I try by hostname It's work, very strange! Both Machines are in the same domain, across a Wan link , Xp client at one side with the DC and the Windows Server at the other side. There isnĀ“t a firewall filtering the link At the server an event 5719 "No windows NT or DomainController available... The remote procedure call failed and did not execute" appeared every 2 hours. It seems a "ntlm" problem, I activated the netlogon.log why the NlSessionSetup: Sessio…

I have just reinstalled Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server on and HP Kayak XU/300. This is the OS that we had been running fine for years, then a crash and the re-install. The system reinstalled without problem, was able to reinstall some of the applications that were there originally. The problem is, the box can not be seen on the network, if the telnet service is turned on, you can not telnet into the box. Remote desktop does not work, even some VPN software, that work before, now does not. If this was XP, or some other OS that had an included firewall, I would say the firewall was turned on, but that is not the case here. Does anyone have any ideas on…

Am looking for information that can lead to fix for W2KAS when installing 2G RAM. Motherboard: Asus A7M266-D Processor(s) (2): AMD Athalon XP 1800+ DIMM: KVR266X64C25/512 I have been running two KVR266X64C25/512 for about three years on this server, but when I install two of the same chip W2KAS crashes with a different STOP message each time, and never in the same stage of bootup. Sometimes it will make it into the OS and allow me to run an application, but the moment the application loads the OS crashes to a reboot. I tried inserting the /PAE switch in boot.ini, but this has not corrected the problem. However, when I remove the two new DIMM's W2KAS b…
