Will USB 3.0 run on Windows 98 Second Edition
by Guest Dan- 17 replies

I was wondering this because of the recently discovered vulnerability within NT even though Microsoft does not support 98, 98 Second Edition and ME effective as of July 11, 2006. Ganhar dinheiro rápido e honesto meu blog http://jet72.zip.net/ : QUER GANHAR UM BOM DINHEIRO?

Backup to External HDD
by Guest Buffalo- 14 replies

I have both Win98SE and Win2000 dual booting on one HDD. The Win2000 is NTSF and Wiu98SE is FAT32. Can I backup both on the same external HDD by doing it through Win2000? I don't believe I can do it through Win98SE as it can't see the Win2000 partition. How would I go about this? Do I have to partition the backup external HDD also in both formats and backup each OS separately? Thanks PS: The reason I am posting in this NG is because of the many smart people here that are willing to help. Buffalo

Windows 98 CD - which was the last one released?
by Guest cccdddrrr@hotmail.co.uk- 12 replies

Briefly, I bought Win95 CD and found I got the final release (OEM Service Release 2.5). I thought that was useful - to get the final release. I'd like to buy Win98. When looking on places like ebay, how can I tell which is the final version - by squinting at the blurry photos sellers upload? It's interesting - reading wikipedia they say win95 had quite a few releases, but win98 only had 2. Is this correct?! Also, does Win98 (SE version) greatly benefit from applying MS patches, strictly in terms of stability or useful additional functionality, and not in terms of security. (I am not interested in applying security patches to Win98 because I'll never c…

webTV adapter 1 2
by Guest Jim- 37 replies

First, please forgive the multipost after several days. I did not get a response in NG: microsoft.public.win98.webtv. Does anybody use the WebTV features of win98+? The MS TV/video adapter in the Network components list; is this a by product of an install of this webTV component in MSIEv.6? The Vista system is supposed to enhance the video experience with more advanced drivers. Is this adapter necessary for Internet streaming video in today's world? It seems to just hang on like a dead alvin.

Removing/stopping "Internat.exe"/Keyboard Language from running.
by Guest Dr. Dos- 8 replies

I /had to/ download install microsoft "jamondo.exe" keyboard language enhancer to view a particular webpage. Now, each time Seamonkey browser is started, the keyboard "EN" icon appears in the system tray. What command/plug-in starts this function and how do I stop seamonkey from doing this? I have removed/uninstalled the Japanese Language component, and renamed internat.exe so it cannot start. It is not in msconfig/run. Keyboard, under Control Panel does not allow to disable showing it in the systray. There is no International icon in Control Panel. Seamonkey=1.1.9 System is Win98SE.

Shall I first completely uninstall the Canon, including physically disconnecting it from the computer before performing a complete new install of the Lexmark. Thanks.

Win 98 Firefox Users Should Consider Opera 9.27
by Guest smith- 13 replies

Now that Firefox has dropped Win 98 support and any claim of being a multi-platform browser, Win 98 users should consider Opera. The new version, 9.50, is not stable, and I would not recommend it. However, the preceding stable version, 9.27, works fine, and I can recommend it. Opera 9.27 has file extensions for cache files, and you can easily work the cache with an ordinary file manager. They dropped the extensions 9.50 only to be met by a chorus of boos from users. See http://groups.google.com/group/opera.general/browse_thread/thread /ed7b283c48d2be3f/35dff7608561bf99?lnk=gst&q=cache#35dff7608561bf 99
