Pay Pal FRUSTRATION
by Guest Brad- 1 reply

Hi, PayPal made changes to their web site back in September. This is the first time I used Pay Pal after the changes and I can not see my balance anymore. I never had this problem before they made changes. How do you see your balance? Thanks in advance, Brad Before you type your password, credit card number, etc., be sure there is no active keystroke logger (spyware) in your PC.

Power management on laptop
by Guest simonc- 1 reply

I have a laptop set up with both Windows XP and Windows 98SE. When I use XP the fan briefly comes on at full power then settles to a low level. When I'm using 98SE the fan seems to be on at maximum power constantly, even when I'm not doing anything. Is there something in my setup of 98 that is sending incorrect messages to the fan control (the BIOS, presumably) or is this a well known issue with Windows 98? What could I try to solve this problem? Grateful for advice.

Five Minutes

Everyday. You're hunched at the computer, flicking the keys with the greatest of ease - or, like me, poking each stroke with the speed of a...umm...well, it DID rhyme! Everyday. You're mesmerized for hours by the wonders of Internet business - you market, you negotiate, you design, you submit, you research, you chat...a lot... Everyday. Enthralled and empowered by your cyber-independence, you plan and scheme, plot and dream. While life in the REAL world goes on around you... "Hey Mom, can I have lunch now?? It's three o'clock!!" "Huh? Whaa...yeah, five minutes, honey...lessee, click here..." Funny how the daily grind hasn't ground to a halt…

Usable driver for Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 in Win98SE?
by Guest Techineer- 1 reply
Does anyone know of a driver that will allow me to make better use of the buttons in W98SE on an MS Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 (wireless optical) mouse? It's part of the Wireless Optical Desktop Pro package. I have several machines connected through a Belkin switchbox, including this Win98SE machine and one running DOS 6.22/Win3.1. It sure would be nice to be able to use some of the buttons on the mouse with them, but I'd settle for just the W98 box. I've tried installing several packages so far: Intellipoint 5.2 and 5.1 won't install at all 4.12 and 4.1 install, but the cursor jumps downscreen when you approach any button Any help appreciated!

Re: IE Crashes on this medical website? Ooops, and forgot to note that yours was using version 6.0.2800.1555 of mshtml.dll. So I guess there's no point in my looking further into other versions of Mshtml.dll, since evidently the problem is not simply due to that DLL file, but it ends up there. So there is apparently something else at work here. Interesting.... It has a thing on the rear that is called an infrared module. It fails to explain what it's for. Can someone please tell me the purpose to this thing. Thanks

Rename *.ITF with filename of TXT file
by Guest brettmanning24@gmail.com- 1 reply
- 308 views
Hello, Is it possible to use the rename command to rename a *.ITF file with the filename of a TXT file in the same directory. For example Directory 1 contains: DEAL1.ITF BRETT.TXT DEAL1.LOG Is it possible to rename DEAL1.LOG to BRETT.LOG (the same name of the TXT file). The TXT file will be a different name each time, therefore it needs to be some kind of variable rename i.e. always rename the .LOG file to that of the .TXT filename. Thanks, Brett

And I decided I want to read my e-mail faster :-) (to be continued)

While using a library computer, I saved to a thumb drive some web pages that displayed running videos. Then I tryed to display the web pages using the home computer but got the message "you must have Adobe Flash Player installed to view the website properly". So I went back to the library and downloaded the flash player file to the thumb drive then installed Flash Player on the home computer then went to the Internet Explorer Manage Add-ons window but could not determine how to add flash player as an add-on. How does one add Flash Player as an add-on?

A lot of people these days are interested in getting their own place on the world wide web. Whether it$B!l(Bs a personal site like a blog, or a business site, they all need to have a decent plan before they get started. A few years ago I started designing and creating websites myself. I started just to show off to others, but I noticed it wasn$B!G(Bt as easy I thought it was.
