The IDE drive is from a laptop and runs with the USB cable power. I can hear the drive running when I hook it up. It was working on the laptop before. I have seen the Disk management but nothing there. The problem seems to be that the windows fails to install the new hardware. It gives me message that recognised "USB-IDE" then as "USB Mass Storage " then it pops up saying "Failed to install new hardware" reason being that device is not recognised. I dont know how to solve it.

Apparently, there have been reports of web video slowdowns. I recently experienced this on my Nintendo Wii Game System last night and noticed how a video was playing and then stopping. My dad, Ivan in New Mexico also has Comcast cable. This was via a wireless connection so I did not think much about it. I noticed it again today on my computer here with both Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.16 as well as Internet Explorer 6 and then contacted Comcast Cable. I talked with the technician and he had me update flash which helped but it was still slow. I am using ADSL, 2Mbit / s connection. Lately am having much difficulties in downloading big files. Downloading stops at around the point of 50 MByte or so. Just stay there, no error message, just stay there. Nothing. At first I thought it was IE that went nuts. So I tried downloading with FireFox. Same things happen. Then I tried Opera. Same thing ! If I use download manager like WellGet, the file can be downloaded, no problem. But if I try downloading large files with browsers, it just stay there, around 50 MBytes, it didn't say "error" or something, the download line still open, but even if I left it overnight, it still stays there. I have a Dell XPS 420 desktop with Vista Ultimate with documents, pictures, mail, favorites, etc. that have been imported from Windows 98se. I can click on existing favorites and Links (that were imported), but I get an "unknown error" message when I try to place a new favorite or link into the list. Just can not figure out how to do it. Neither could Dell. I know they were imported correctly as it was done by a Microsoft MVP, and everything else seems to be working just fine. Any help would be appreciated.
